How do I make a purchase

How do I Purchase Gift Certificates?
Franchise locations are independently managed and therefore unable to redeem Gift Certificates from other areas. When purchasing a Gift Certificate, please purchase it from the location in which it will be redeemed. If you do not reside in this area, contact the appropriate franchisee who will be happy to help you with your purchase. Find a location here

How do I Purchase a Shadow Box?
You must contact one of our locations to book a an hour to an hour and a half appointment for a LifeCasting Artist to take the moulds of your child’s hands/feet.  This will give you and the Artist time to customize the design of your shadow box within our frame and mat color selections. Find a location here

How do I Purchase a Raised Impression?
(Framed or Unframed)

You must contact one of our locations to book a half an hour appointment.  Our LifeCasting Artist will take an impression of your child’s hands/feet and if you decide to have them framed, you’ll be given time to customize your frame design with our mat and frame color selections.  Our standards frame colors are black, espresso and grey with black, espresso, grey and white mat systems.

How do I Purchase Finger/Toeprint Jewelry?
You must contact one of our locations to book a 15 minute appointment.  Our Artist will take an impression of your child’s thumb or toe depending on age and will send it to our jewelry studio to be completed.

Booking an Appointment. Do I have to Book an Appointment and What Times are Available?

All of our locations are home based therefore each of our artists require you to contact them to book an appointment.  Appointment times vary from one location to the next and are subject to change at any time without notice ….meaning when you’re arranging to come back for future keepsakes or pick ups, the availability might have changed

Our products are precious and a lot of time and care gets put into each piece.  It actually takes more time to complete products than to create them therefore appointment availability can often be limited.  We want to always ensure we are delivering the best quality and service possible therefore we will never see more clients than we can handle.

What method of payments do you accept?

Cash, credit card and e transfers are available at most locations.
Full payment is due at time of appointment.

What is the ideal age to get the following products created?

The question we like to ask you is what would you like to have captured as a memory frozen in time for years to come.  Would you prefer having your child cast while their hands/feet are still very small or would you like to capture a milestone?  We have cast babies as young as 1 day old to adults at 86.  The choice is ultimately yours. …. There may, however, be size restrictions on certain styles of products.

Shadow Boxes/LifeCast Statues/Classic Mini with Casts: Casts for Shadow Boxes and LifeCasts can be done at any age. There may, however, be size restrictions on certain styles.
Please contact the LifeCasting Artist closest to you, they will be happy to answer any of your questions.

Raised Impressions/Classic Mini with Impression: Hand prints for Raised Impressions up to 5 years of age; footprints up to 1 year old.

Jewelry – Fingerprint Pendants: any age.
Note: young children rarely have detailed fingerprints. As a rule, the younger the child, the smaller and less-detailed the print.
We take a child’s toe print from birth up to 3 years (so we can capture their adorable ‘toe crinkle’) and their thumbprint at 3 years of age and over.

We can also work with ink prints if the person/child is not able to come in for an appointment.

Jewelry – Dog Tag Pendants: any age.
Note: Impressions often look different on Dog Tags as compared to other pendants; there is more surface area surrounding the print, therefore the overall look of the print when in a Dog Tag can look very different than a heart, oval or circle pendant.

We can also work with ink prints if the person/child is not able to come in for an appointment.

Jewelry – Handprint/Footprint Pendants: any age from newborn to seniors
Note: this pendant focuses more on the unique shape of one person’s hand or footprint.  Fine lines can often transfer through but it depends on the quality of the ink print provided to us.

You can either provide us with ink prints or one of our artists can take the ink prints for you.

Digital Prints: Any age as we use an ink print of someone’s fingerprint or hand/footprint.

To have one of our keepsake pieces created, please contact a location nearest you and either book an appointment to go in, or scan in your image and pay via invoice.

Before my appointment, what should I know about LifeCasting/Classic Mini with casts?

How long will my appointment be?
Most appointments are typically an hour but depending on the age of the child and type of frame you’re ordering, the LifeCasting Artist might book you in for an hour.  The lifecasting portion of the appointment typically takes far less time than deciding on how you want your item customized.

How should a baby be?
Having baby a little more relaxed can help with your WP Creations’ experience. Therefore, following some of the suggestions below will make your experience with us even more amazing.

  • Plan to have your baby arrive a little sleepy (but not overtired)
  • Perhaps waking the baby earlier in the morning or from a nap, and/or bathing him/her before you come might be helpful if you’re willing
  • If there is a favourite toy or rattle for your baby, please bring that too as it can be very helpful as a distraction
  • Feeding baby during a lifecasting appointment is the best distraction for the casting process. 
  • I appreciate your understanding in possibly altering his/her regular schedule for the appointment.  Having baby calm during casting will ensure we get as detailed of prints as possible, and will avoid having to book a second appointment, which may be necessary if detailed casts are not achieved. Similarly, we may have to look at other comparable keepsakes if attempts at good casts are unsuccessful.
  • Please trim your child’s nails prior to your arrival

How long will my child have to remain still?
Remember, we are trained professionals and have mastered the art of capturing prints of wiggly hands and feet.
Our system of capturing prints and our unique mold material (free of dye or perfume) will make the process easier than you may think.
We will guide you and your child through the process and we will work with you to ensure we capture the best print possible.

My baby/child moves a lot and won’t sit still. Will you still be able to cast them?
Yes, as Canada’s original baby LifeCasting company (since 2001), we have plenty of experience working with babies and children.
In other words – we know what we are doing! If we’re unable to capture the quality piece at your first appointment, we will call you back to try again (although it is rare that we wouldn’t be able to capture your child’s prints at their initial appointment)

I would like an open/closed hand or open/curled toes, is this possible?
There is no way to control the positioning or final placement of the child’s hand or foot. Babies are unpredictable, by nature, and will move freely in our mold material until the “30-second setting period.” The child’s hand/foot position at this ‘set time’ time will determine its final position. The same holds true for our raised impressions.  Sometimes the fingers or toes are placed closer together and sometimes they are spread apart.
Although we will try our best, as mentioned above, there are no guarantees on hand/foot placement or positioning.  After all, this is what makes it unique to your baby.
For this reason, we cannot offer refunds based on things that are out of our control.

Is your moulding material safe?
The moulding material we use is made exclusively for us; it is a comfortable ‘bathwater warm’ temperature, free of dyes and perfumes,  and safe to use on baby’s delicate skin. The hand or foot will be in the (bathwater warm) mold material for approximately 60 seconds in total.
During that time, the child can wiggle and move for the first 20-30 seconds, after which a setting process occurs which turns the liquid into a gel-like solid.
When mold material starts to set, we strive for as little movement as possible in order to capture lots of detail.
During the ‘setting time’ (which lasts approximately 6-10 seconds) we will distract your child until the mold sets to a soft rubber texture.
Remember, even while setting, the temperature is comfortably warm, often young babies do not notice or mind.
After the mold is set, we gently remove the hand or foot from the mold – and your part is done.

What clothing should we wear?
Even though our moulding material comes off extremely easy from baby and children’s delicate skin, it tends to adhere to anything that is porous.  So please neither parent or child should wear their best attire. Nor should you bring any facecloths or blankets that are your favourite just in case they should come into contact with our material.

If I’m ordering a LifeCast Statue, what colour/style of granite do you offer?
Every piece of granite, as the Statue it is holding, is unique, no two pieces are alike.
Colours and sizes will vary by location. Please let your local WP Creations’ representative know if you prefer a light or dark colour, as well as a larger or smaller piece of granite. They will do their best to accommodate you, however there is never an exact match.

Do you ship your castings away to be made?
We are proud to say we create all of our castings on-site in our studios and workshops.
This way we can spend careful time and attention on each one as required.
Professional framing is also done on-site.

I have previous WP Creation keepsakes, is there any guarantee that my new keepsake will look exactly like my other ones?
No two children are alike therefore no two keepsakes .  Suppliers, paints, materials, engraving options and sizes change and evolve over time.

We cannot guarantee that your new keepsake will look exactly like the others.  In fact, it’s safe to say every keepsake will be different therefore there are no refunds on our products and casts cannot be sold separately.  They must be mounted in a frame or on granite

When will my product be completed and when must I pick it up by?
Shadow Boxes: completed in 8 weeks
LifeCast Statues: completed in 6 weeks
Classic Mini: Completed in 4 weeks
All items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of being notified they are completed.

Before my appointment, what should I know about Raised Impressions/Classic Mini with Impression?

Can I add glass to this frame?
No, this frame has been designed to have no glass so that you can touch and feel the casts

What color mats or frames are available?
The mats are available in black or white and the frame is available in black only.

Can I upgrade the frame to a different color mats or frame?
No, that’s what our other frames are for.  Customization.  This frame is meant to stay simple and priced so low as our supplier is able to mass produce the frame shell and mats.

How long will my appointment be?
Most appointments are typically half an hour. The impressions take only a few seconds and the rest of the appointment is discussing how you want your keepsake customized.

How should a baby be?

Baby should have a full tummy so please feed prior to your arrival.  If you are having both raised impressions and castings done, it is best to feed your baby while you’re here and do the raised impression at the very end.

If my keepsake is unframed, do you write their name on it?
Yes we do handwrite your child’s name and age on the back of the keepsake in grey or black coloring.

If I have a ‘Free Raised Impression Voucher’ is there a session fee or minimum purchase required?
No, there is no session fee or minimum purchase and YES it is really FREE!
We want you to experience the joy of getting your child’s impression taken, and to own something we feel you will treasure for a lifetime.

We are also confident you will love your new keepsake so much you tell other Moms and Dads about us and what we do.
All too often we hear from disappointed parents how they wished they had heard of WP Creations when their children were younger.
We are trying to rid the world of disappointed parents who may have missed the chance to capture their young child’s prints and enjoy comparing them as they grow older.

Will you be able to get an open hand for a raised impression?
We receive this question a lot! It’s quite common for a parent to be unsuccessful at getting their child’s hand to stay open; however (remember we are professionals here at WP Creations), we can confidently say that most of the time we are successful at getting an open hand in a Raised Impression.

So… the answer is yes, we will most likely be able to get your child’s hand open. ☺

Can my unframed Raised Impression break?
Unframed raised impressions are similar to a ceramic keepsake and we all know, if dropped, they can shatter.
You can frame it at the time of the appointment, this not only helps reduce your overall costs = you save money! but also reduces the risk of your treasured keepsake getting broken. Don’t risk having your precious keepsake broken as your heart might just shatter too 🙁

Can I bring my Raised Impression back to be framed at a later date?
Yes you can, but full retail pricing will then apply.

Do you ship your raised impressions away to be made?
We are proud to say we create all of our raised impressions on-site in our studios and workshops.
This way we can spend careful time and attention on each one as required.

How long will my appointment be?
Most appointments are typically 15 minutes. The impressions take only a few seconds and the rest of the appointment is discussing how you want your keepsake customized. Handprint/Footprint/Digitalprint/Kids Designs/ Your Notes/Drawings/Soundwaves/Sonograms can be done without an appointment.  Find a location nearest you, discuss which product you’d like, scan and email in your image, pay via invoice.

How detailed will the print on my necklace be?
Each of our Silver Print pendants is hand-crafted, therefore no two pieces are alike.
The print you receive will be YOUR loved ones prints captured at the time of your appointment.
It is important to remember that each piece is unique – just as each child and child’s print is unique.
Since your child’s print is unique to them, and no two are alike; therefore, the amount of detail that comes through in the print will vary, both from child to child, as well as differ when comparing children at different ages.

In general, the rule of thumb is: the younger the child, the less-detailed the print.
Having said that, however, we have seen younger babies with very detailed prints, and older babies with very little detail in their prints.
While there is no way to guarantee detailed lines, we can guarantee to capture the shape and grooves and crevices of your child’s print at time of your appointment.

What if my necklace comes back with very little print?
As explained above, there is no way to guarantee a detailed print on your pendant or for your pendant to look exactly like others.
Remember however, the pendant you receive will be that of your child and it will reflect your child’s individuality.
For this reason, as I am sure you can understand, we cannot offer refunds on jewelry.

Can the prints fade over time?

While we would like to say no, we have found on a few rare occasions this has happened.  Very fine prints and pendants that are exposed to certain elements can fade over time.
We recommend you not sleep with your pendant on, don’t shower with it, avoid swimming pools, hairspray, perfume etc.

Dark Pendants: Please do not clean the pendant with jewelry cleaner as this will remove the wax coating and oxidizing.  Only use the jewelry cloth that is provided at time of purchase.

Shiny Pendants: If you ordered a shiny unoxidized pendant, then you can go ahead and use jewelry cleaner as the natural oxidizing that occurs overtime will yellow your pendant

Do you take the prints for the pendants?
For our toeprint/fingerprint jewelry, we take the print on site.  If you only have an ink print of the person you want on the pendant, we can work with that too.

For our handprint/footprint jewelry, you can either provide us with an ink print or we do offer ink printing services using an inkless print kit.

Before my appointment, what should I know about Sentiments in Silver Kids Design/Sound Wave/Your Notes Jewelry?

Sound Waves – What kinds of images do you prefer?
Send us a screenshot or scan of the audio image you’d like us to use. Keep in mind the pendants are around 1/2 – 3/4″ wide x 1″ tall  and are typically in a vertical position unless designer decides otherwise.  The longer your sound wave, the smaller the sound wave image will appear on your pendant.

Sound Waves – What kinds sound waves do you recommend?
Common sound wave images are I love you, I love you mom, I love you dad, I love you grandma, I love you grandpa, baby’s sonograms (heart beat), etc.

Your Notes Necklaces & Kids Designs – What kinds of images do you prefer?
Ideally, a paper that is approx. 7″ x 7″ and drawn or written using a Sharpie is the best choice. Having said that, we have done some amazing things with pencil or pen as well. Crayons and paint tend to have thicker lines and when shrunk down, might lose their clarity.​

Your Notes Necklaces & Kids Designs – The image I have is larger than 7″ x 7″, what can I do?
Scan and email your image to us so we can give you our professional opinion. Most times a larger image is fine and we can work with it. Remember that the pendant is almost square in size, so chose an image that would suit.

Your Notes Necklaces & Kids Designs – what size is the pendant?
Pendants are approx. 1″ wide x 3/4″ tall

Your Notes Necklaces & Kids Designs – What format do you need my image, note or sketch and how can I send it to you?
You can scan and email the image. We can work with any format.

When will my product be completed and when must I pick it up by?
Soundwaves: completed in 6 weeks
Kids Designs: completed in 6 weeks
Your Notes: completed in 6 weeks
All items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of being notified they are completed. 

Before my appointment, what should I know about Photo Crystals?

What size picture is required?
Low quality (500KB- 1MB) photo is required
Since the latest technology is used to produce stunning, detailed photos, we are able to use low resolution pictures for the conversion into any crystal piece.

When will my product be completed and when must I pick it up by?
Any crystal product: completed in 4 weeks
All items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of being notified they are completed. 

What should I know about keepsakes for Pets/'Fur' Babies?

What type of products can be made?
Our raised impressions, classic mini with impression, jewelry (we often use their nose instead of paw) or crystal collection are all suitable keepsakes for your pet.

What type of products can’t be made?
We cannot do any of our 3d products as the material would stick to the fur and being that the duration is longer than our impression process, it would be too uncomfortable for a pet.

What kind of temperament is required?
Taking an impression of a pet is quick but being somewhere outside of their comfort zones could make the pet a little uneasy.  Therefore if your pet is moody, doesn’t like all people or has ever tried to bite, we don’t recommend the raised impression process.  Perhaps considering our 3D Crystals is a better alternative as we only require a photo.

Where do you take the impressions for pets?
Since we’re a national franchise chain of work at home families, we too often have pets inside therefore at most locations, the impressions might be done on the front porch or in a covered garage area.

We also suggest that you trim the pet’s nails as well as the hair between the pads of the paw you want used for the impression.

Should a second person/helper come to the appointment?
Absolutely, since it’s helpful on a hot or cold day to have the pet go back into the cool or warm vehicle for comfort.  OR while you’re inside deciding which style of keepsake you want, it’s helpful to have a helper take your pet for a walk.

Do all locations offer services for pets?
No, not all of our locations offer pet services.  Please click here to contact your nearest location and see what kind of pet services they can provide.  Some will be able to take impressions and others might be able to only offer the jewelry or crystal keepsakes

Can you travel to me?
Some of our locations offer this service and some locations don’t.

If you travel to me is there a fee?
Yes there is a fee and it varies depending on where you are located.  Be sure to ask your artist what that fee is prior to booking the appointment.

If my product requires a picture, what should I know before?

I am ordering a Shadow Box/Framed Raised Impression with a picture, when is my picture required?
Ideally (in the perfect world), you will bring your picture with you at time of your appointment, this will ensure you will receive your product without delay.
Pictures are required within 4-6 weeks unless otherwise communicated.  Realize all our pieces are custom-ordered, therefore that your order cannot be moved further in the process and your frame is not typically ordered until we have your picture.

I am purchasing a Shadow Box/Framed Raised Impression, do you take the picture or do I bring it?
When investing in a timeless keepsake such as a shadow box, it is important to choose a picture with which you’ll be pleased for years to come. We are not photographers and will not be taking your child’s picture. It is up to you to provide us with a picture of your choice; we will then custom-mount it into the frame and seal the back with a dust mat. See above for more detail on when we need your photo for your order.

Why does the picture need to be ‘watermark free’?
Pictures with photographers’ watermarks will not be framed in any WP Creations’ product. This is proprietary to the photographer. You may be asked for a release of copyright should this scenario arise.  

Product completion time frames and important details

How long does it take to have the following items completed?
Unframed Raised Impression: up to 4 weeks
Framed Raised Impression/Shadow Box: up to 8 weeks
Finger/toe print jewelry: up to 6 weeks
Notes/Designs/Sound Wave jewelry: up to 8 weeks
Photo Crystals: up to 4 weeks.

Why such long timelines for completion?
All our products are custom-made one-at-a-time, we take a lot of time and care to ensure they are detailed, cleaned, dried, and properly sealed for longevity.
For most items, we must place custom orders for supplies, mats, laser engraving, engraving plates etc.

What if I need my item sooner as it’s being presented as a gift?
If you need your items for an event that is sooner than completion time, feel free to print this cute little poem or choose additional ones here to announce your gift will be coming soon.

How long, after my order is completed, do I have to pick it up?
Because we want you enjoying your unique WP Creations item as soon as possible, and also because we cannot guarantee it’s safety if you leave it with us for an extended amount of time, items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of completion.

What happens if I do not pick my order up in time?
You are required to pick up your keepsake item within 3 weeks of it’s completion.
We would hate for anything to happen to your treasured keepsake if we have to move it from place to place while we create other customers’ orders; for this reason, we would really appreciate you picking up your items soon after they are ready.
WP Creation Franchise locations are not responsible for possible damages of items picked up after this deadline.

Can you ship a finished product through the mail?
We discourage shipping finished products as you risk extensive damage to your one-of-a-kind keepsake; damage that cannot be undone.
If you are moving to another city, please allow yourself enough time to come and pick up your WP Creations’ keepsake before relocating.

Do you travel to my house or do I come to you?

We offer appointments in our homes (this is both for your convenience and also so we can control the quality of your product).
WP Creations has locations all across Canada, hopefully there is a location close to you.
We are a work-at-home opportunity so you will be coming to a residential area.
It is important we work from our own home studios in order to maintain consistency in air temperature, water temperature and preparation surfaces, as these all affect the quality of the keepsakes.  

Arriving Early/Late or need to cancel?

Early Arrivals
Please arrive 5 minutes early to your scheduled appointment. It is very imperative that this is followed as there are appointments booked before and after yours. This ensures we have a few minutes to get settled and started on the order process and not take time away from the next client. Also, please consider and plan for weather and traffic conditions.
We are a home based business so please refrain from arriving more than 15 before your appointment as we could be getting the rest of our set up or even our kiddos prepared so we can soon give you our best attention.

What happens if I’m more than 15 minutes late to an appointment?
Please call and ask if it’s still ok to come and mention how far away you are.  Often if your 15 minutes late, the appointment might have to be rescheduled as another set of parents could be on their way in.  This is rare but depending on what you’re ordering, this could happen to you.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Since most of our materials are prepared in advance, we ask that you give us 24 hours notice to reschedule. Please refrain from rescheduling  more than one appointment.

I've already had my appointment, Is it too late to redeem a coupon/promotion?

All coupons or promotions must be redeemed at time of appointment and cannot be honoured after payment has been processed.
